I don’t do book tours anymore but I still read…a lot…and when I saw this book I knew I HAD to read it. I haven’t yet but I plan to soon.
Here is the synopsis from Amazon
From Julie Murphy, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Dumplin’, comes the first in a two-book origin story of Faith, a groundbreaking, plus-sized superhero from the Valiant Entertainment comics.
Faith Herbert is a pretty regular teen. When she’s not hanging out with her two best friends, Matt and Ches, she’s volunteering at the local animal shelter or obsessing over the long-running teen drama The Grove.
So far, her senior year has been spent trying to sort out her feelings for her maybe-crush Johnny and making plans to stay close to Grandma Lou after graduation. Of course, there’s also that small matter of recently discovering she can fly….
When the fictional world of The Grove crashes into Faith’s reality as the show relocates to her town, she can’t believe it when TV heroine Dakota Ash takes a romantic interest in her.
But her fandom-fueled daydreams aren’t enough to distract Faith from the fact that first animals, then people, have begun to vanish from the town. Only Faith seems able to connect the dots to a new designer drug infiltrating her high school.
But when her investigation puts the people she loves in danger, she will have to confront her hidden past and use her newfound gifts—risking everything to save her friends and beloved town.
2016 is coming soon and that knowledge leads me to wonder….What happened to 2015?
It seems the older one gets the faster years go. I remember as a kid thinking I couldn’t possibly live long enough to be the age I am today…almost 45, but here I am.
So….What are your plans for 2016?
I already have 2 road trips planned. Both in the same week. Am I crazy? Don’t answer that…
In April I am going to take a road trip to the town of my birth. San Pedro California. I haven’t been there since……high school? Possibly. Then later that same week I will be seeing friends at the KABAM book festival in Kingman Arizona.
I also have several friends publishing new books in early 2016. This will be featured on my book blog. You can see what is there now if you like. Just follow the link.
Ramblings of a book nerd
There will be no Comic-Con next year, Plans fell through and people flaked on me so….I probably won’t be attending that again, sadly.
Not too bad a day for writing. Even with everything else I had to do today.
Church, laundry, lunch, another blog post. I still managed over 3000 words. Kinda proud of myself. I decided I would only post stats once a week. Much more than 2 times a week is a little annoying. At least to me. So here they are…
Word count is NaNo verified word count. Which is actually only one word short of my own count. Not too bad. I hope I can keep up this pace. The library and I are going to become good friends in the coming days.
A couple weeks ago I was so excited to reveal the cover for the first book in this new series Tau’s Pride. Yesterday on Facebook, Pakemates and friends got a quick look at the new cover for book 2 in the Tau’s Pride saga. Though it was only a short wait to be able to bring the cover to my blog the wait seemed endless. So here we are again with another incredible cover.
National novel writing month is close. Are you ready Nano’s?
I’m getting there. I skipped last year but I think I will give it an honest try this year.
Happy writing everyone and good luck to us all.
I always get really excited when I have a really fun vacation planned. This vacation, however, I think I am more excited for than I have been in the past.
Because I am going to Las Vegas to participate in the Vegas Valley Book Festival. I originally was going to meet my friend and author Wendi Kelly. Writing/business partner of my friend author Deborah Dorchak. Co-authors of the Bonds of Blood & Spirit saga. (which is fabulous if I do say so)
Then came an opportunity to attend a writers workshop they are having the day before. So, being a budding writer I jumped at this opportunity.
But…The best thing yet just happened a little bit ago. I was asked to “hang out” at my friend’s booth during the festival. How cool is that!!! Naturally I said I would love to because…well…I would love to.
Excited girl 🙂
I will write a full lenth post about my experience at the Festival soon

I’ve been thinking all day about what I wanted to say here. How I could possibly do this book cover any justice what so ever, but all words escape me. This is the most stunning book cover in the whole series.
This morning newsletter members were given the first look at the cover for the new Bonds of Blood & Spirit continued saga “Tau’s Pride: Storms”
I can’t even imagine the work and talent that goes into creating something like this. So…since i’ve gushed enough about it here is a look at “Tau’s Pride:Storms:
